Was reading some shit that involved the Church of Scientology. Seems that the founder was into Aleister Crowley.
Could explain why there's some shit going on with ex-members of that cult and members harassing others.

cult comes from lat. cultus = worhship of Gods
occult comes from lat. occultus = hidden, secret...

Since the word "cult" is in the word "occult", it refers to a cult that is practiced in secrecy...  such as the Mitras cult  for example that was carried out in caves because it was not recognized by the authorities.
