Bingo. It's just very disheartening that something I was taught as a kid was such a high honor is being used in such a way. That people think that's acceptable. It was bad enough when Obama was nominated - and then got it - and then actually accepted it. One of the cringiest moments in U.S. history. |

Biden earned this nomination for beating Trump. Do you think Trump deserves one? No, Trump did nothing but sow dissent and altercations. Biden earns it for taking him out of office. You people still dont understand that the Democrats are all about peace, and taking care of those that cannot take care of themselves. You think because you can manage to take care of yourself whether by destiny or chance, that everyone should be able to. This is not the case, not everyone has the same opportunities and talents. If you cant stomach being generous to people that have less or are incapable of what you are, at least look at it from the point that taking care of the poor disarms crime, for where else would they get what they need?

Crime here has increased significantly with the extra covid money added to people's unemployment on top of the stimulus checks.
There are plenty of people who do utilize the extra plus stimulus for their monthly bills.
People who cant take care of themselves should be in some therapy and meds to begin learning to take care of themselves.
For those who have a physical disability that prevents them from working should get disability $.
I have no issues with programs to assist, but there has to be some accountability and responsibility on the person's receiving the money. You don't spend all the $ on absolute bullshit (clothes, alcohol, drugs, etc) and have no money for rent and monthly bills. Run off to play and party while complaining about depression and anxiety problems and not doing the work to get that taken care of. Retail therapy is not therapy to get your self healed to progress.
Fucking, smoking, drinking, and shopping will not heal traumas from childhood.
I've seen too much fucking off and not being responsible with the extra money.

How do they keep collecting the money when unemployment is requiring people to look for jobs and they aren't looking for jobs? Something is very wrong with the system.

There's a lot of people who aren't returning to work because unemployment plus covid weekly payments are paying them well.
I was paid very well when I used unemployment last year when the building was damaged from riots.
I said "wow, no wonder why people aren't going back to work"
I sacrificed that good weekly $$ to return to work to make less. At least I get health insurance and 401k plan.
I can cancel insurance and 401k and have more $, but that isnt wise imo.
Many people collecting arent even thinking longterm or bigger picture of their life.

One more thing...I had a lengthy conversation last Sunday at work with a woman in her 50's with 3 adult children she raised. She was on her own at age 12 and has worked hard to get where she is at today. One of her children collects disability. Their money does not change monthly during covid and yet they were able to collect extra covid money and stimulus money. She said that's too much money for some people to have. They find theirselves thinking they can do whatever they want (ego comes along with extra $ and along with lack of parental guidance for getting life on track) she wasn't being specific to those on disability about life on track.
Was very interesting hearing her take on things. She sees what's going on in this city. Gangs/thugs are trying to run the show and protestors want them protected.
There's no accountability for criminals. 27 times in jail and still fucking up while getting extra $. People need mental health help badly here.
