Its really hard to say with certainty who deserves money. If jobs took care of their workers people wouldnt settle for unemployment over finding work. As far as disability goes, its really hard to say who is capable of working and who isnt. Ive seen people getting it that I think can work, and Im sure they think the same of me, and honestly, there have been times when I could work, but I keep getting sick, and maybe its true for the people I see too. We have to trust our medical specialists to decide that, but doctors cant monitor a person all day to see. The alternative to helping these people is more crime and higher suicide rates. I know that if I were making 100 thousand or more a year that I would be fine with 1/3rd of my income going to taxes. Its pure greed to need more than that much money for a single person. A family that makes more than 200 thousand a year shouldnt feel badly about that kind of tax either. We dont need as much as we think we do, just ask someone on disability. The truth is that people want stuff, and they make enough to buy it, and it should be taxed to pay for infrastructure and welfare. I feel badly for other people like me on the low end that have to work through depressions and anxiety, or have to raise kids on little money. These people need more. For myself, I wish I could work, I wish I had never gotten sick, I wish I were capable of being healthy, because I like having control of my life and health. The best years of my life were taken away by this illness. Im not upset about it and its not a reason to give me disability, but I am sick and cannot work even ten hours a week without getting more sick. I get enough money to pay my bills and save a hundred dollars a month. That is without spending on dining out or new clothes or fancy gadgets or cable television or any of the extra stuff. Its not much, but I make do. If you have the money to afford those other things, it and you should be taxed to help the poor, its that simple.

I take no issue with rich being taxed. They do take too much taxes from the people such as myself though. If I made 100k a year I wouldn't be trying to live large. I would replace my 2 chairs though. invest if possible. They have made it very difficult for generational wealth for folks here. I cant afford to buy a house and maintain the bills on my own. I'd love to so my children would have something when I die. Especially when the world is looking bleak for their future at this time. Inflation is going to fuck things up for many of us. Rent has increased as well. Which is funny since crime has increased. Tax dollars aren't funding the safety of tax payers that's for sure. I could move further away where it's cheaper, but I dont drive (public transportation is scarce the further out you go)and I refuse to now with all the chaos on the streets. Drivers are absolutely awful now compared to when I did drive. Speeding, driving with no license/insurance, car jackings multiple times a day all over and intoxicated with God only knows while driving. No thanks.
Paying the price for convenience.

You live in a bad city. Crime is high and people are not at rest. Yes the transportation is great there but I live in a city of about 200 thousand and we do have some crime but there are plenty of jobs and the transportation isnt terrible. I pay 360 dollars to rent out a small room. You should think about moving out of the city.

You have kids? No? That makes moving much more difficult. Cant take off elsewhere while 2 are in school. One lives with me and covid has already slowed progress for him. He is a bit different than the ordinary child. Think borderline aspergers. His own father finally admitted he's a bit different. His grandmother and I have been saying this for well over half his life because we pay a bit more attention to how he goes about things. Still have 1 in High school too. So that's not an option currently.

Also, I dont have room for a roommate either as the children have their own rooms and no vacancy here. Plus I have cats which my place is already small imo for them. Saying move is far easier than actually doing such. No I'm not making excuses, I'm being realistic about what the kids have going on in their life which is school and that's important to complete and be able to get their adult life going
