So this great group is recruiting all sorts of people through social media. A woman from the UK joined and said she wants to behead the UK/American Christians.
Obama said the US will destroy ISIS. Shit is about to get ugly again over there. Remember the movie "The Patriot"
also I had this image of terrorists in europe with random beheadings happening over there :/

ISIS controls a huge territory as a base of operations. They're worse than the Taliban in Afghanistan and said to be worse/crazier than Al Qaeda. If we let them sit there, we're going to get hit. And the open border certainly isn't doing anything to protect us, either.
It's a terrorist state, straight up. Can't really get any more obvious than it is. It's a threat not only to the USA but to the entire world, just by its existence.

Yeah. Things are likely going to get more intense. Lone wolves are on the prowl. And there will be stepped-up efforts at retaliation due to us bombing them (not saying we shouldn't be doing that though). I'm skeptical about the usage of rebels from other factions to fight ISIS though. I'd feel more comfortable if we just sent in some supporting units to fight alongside the Iraqi army, to give them a little more courage so they don't run away. I'd be okay with US boots on the ground doing that - but it seems Obama doesn't want to do that in order to save face. He wants to stick by his decision to totally pull out all US troops and try to prove that things can still work his way, even though the lack of a US presence is what lead to the creation of ISIS in the first place. But doing it his way is really gambling with our security for political reasons. We don't need to send in a huge occupying force - but some battalions and special forces to support the Iraqi army might go a long way.

Well, the guy who beheaded someone in Oklahoma was friends with one of the new workers at my job. She's claiming it's gotta be a conspiracy and that the government is behind it & that the American people need to wake up.
Syria & Iraq need to step up their military & start kicking ass on the extremists in their countries.

I also read that this ISIS war is a distraction for what really is going on with Putin/Russia. And we should be more worried about him.

He's a sneaky quiet Russian. But perhaps he's busy shagging men & keeping it in the closet so people assume he's up to something, but really he's up in ass

Well, the guy who beheaded someone in Oklahoma was friends with one of the new workers at my job. She's claiming it's gotta be a conspiracy and that the government is behind it & that the American people need to wake up. That's really interesting. What I've read is that everything in the mainstream media is just to push forward the US and allies agenda to sell more arms and secure the oil reserves in Syria and Iraq. $$$$$$$ It's possible that these IS people have become extremists because of the situation they're put in - to protect their country (and oil reserves) at any cost. Their last resort to have any freedoms is this sort of horrific violence. And conveniently they've been sold arms to aid their violent tactics. I noticed the recent news on the Ottawa shooting - the US and Canadian media said the gunman had a criminal record and had recently joined IS. Then I watched the Al Jazeera news (who also report on what is happening in Kobane, Syria etc) and they just said it was a gunman with a criminal record. No mention of IS. Either they didn't get that info or perhaps they don't have an agenda to push. It is strange that everything went quiet about the Ukraine crash and military action there. I know Ukraine has big oil and gas reserves though! Used to work for a company that owned several reserves right in that area. All they cared about was finding new reserves so their stock value could increase....

I spoke with one of my coworkers who is a muslim and she said her dad called her from somalia today and said watch out for ISIS.
she also said the USA is connected to ISIS for teaching these very people military skills during the iraq war. SO it's like another cold war moment. history repeating itself in a different area

yeah, they recently changed the laws here to prevent people who have travel plans to those countries from getting passports. It doesn't stop people here from doing their own craziness - or the media reporting some random gunman's actions being 'in the name of IS' to further justify our govts involvement. interesting article on the muslim response here www.patheos.com/blogs/standingonmyhead/2014/08/the-silence-of-peaceful-muslims.htmland that's a Catholic website!

What do you think about the news of ISIS going to make their own currency?
I guess I wonder what the value would be when converted into any other country's currency, if it happens

Sounds like just another alternative currency - there are thousands around the world - most can be converted to the country's main currency (or US $ if they use that). Seeing how the current monetary system works (how money is created out of nothing), I guess you can't blame them from wanting a financial system that isn't going to collapse! I read that it will help them buy supplies - which means they can only buy supplies from those who will accept the coins. Wonder if that means they will still buy US-made weapons? Sad to read that they plan to expand into Jordan...I doubt Petra will get the same amount of tourists as before!
