St. Sebastian - Giovanni Antonio Bazzi doesn't the face look very Mellon Collie-ish?

^ The above two pictures have links under them both and if you click the link you will view the picture and as you move your mouse across the picture there will be a column on the right side which will give the artists' spoken interpretation of each Individual symbol .

To find meaning in Art is so enriching. As if it is giving worth to life, the greatest piece of art. What would be life without the meaning we give to it? This meaning is what keep us alive. Alive.

I wondered about the fact the artist explained his art, saying in the same time that it was not well accepted by some "art experts".
What may be the impact of explaination by the artist? Does this point of view may restrain the amplitude of our own exploration?
It seems the artist may bring a special dimension to those viewing the piece of art. Does more we share our point of views, more we are enlightened? Are we able to kill the curiosity about art? Does it have an end for exploration?

Btw, saintrenee....those paintings are done by a Mormon artist. If you look through his website, you'll find a number of paintings done about Mormon history, etc.
Very nice paintings! Thanks for sharing them.
