Shatner. You can call him William Shatner. They did both perform Rocket Man.  And Lol. Taylor Swift totally looks like Billy, though. I do, however, get where he's coming from. |

Actually, having read through the post, it's really unfair of people to characterize it as crazy or whatever (as the sensationalist headline-writers are). I think it was a coherent expression of Billy's (or maybe WPC now?) outlook on himself and how he interacts with the world generally.
Over the last decade or so, WPC has been making statements regarding music from the Pumpkins' glory days which some people may have interpreted as an eschewing of the fan base/his own past/whatever. Basically, it boiled down to the fact that WPC is continuing to grow and change and he wants to be recognized for what he is now, for the whole being that is him, and not as some fossilized relic of what he was.
I read an article from last year in which he was quoted (I think regarding Soundgarden/Chris Cornell and their frequent participation in "best of the 90s" type tours) as speaking negatively of that activity. IIRC, the gist of what he was saying was that when you do that, you aren't growing. And he wants to grow as an artist, not just make money off of the unchanged past (which he pointed out the Pumpkins could do, and do well, in a heartbeat if they wanted).
I really enjoy the art the Pumpkins made in the 90s and my top two favorite songs are from that time period. But the Pumpkins are still making new and dynamic stuff that I also like. Song for a Son from Teargarden and Tiberius off of Monuments are easily in my top ten from their catalogue. What I hope is that this Shiny and Oh So Bright tour represents WPC becoming more confortable with the public's fixation on that part of his past and not let that hinder his display of ALL his art going forward.
As a fan, I'm really grateful for this current tour and given WPC's statements over the last decade, I recognize the introspective work he must have done to reach this place he's in now.

He livestreamed last night and I swear O heard him say "the pandemic is over we can go back to normal life" cant recall the exact words, I'd have to rewatch
Anyways, if he did say that....where and when did the pandemic end because round here it's not over. They are still pushing the bullshit.
And project veritas had a Pfizer employee say there is fetal tissue in that vaccine and Pfizer didnt want that info to be in the news.
