Next month, as temperatures warm, billions of cicadas will begin to emerge from the ground as their internal clocks hit the 17-year mark. Soon, their numbers will swell in locations in Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia and West Virginia, making a racket as the males call for the females.

While in Sedona a number of years ago, I had the pleasure of being serenaded while dining AL Fresco, by Cicadas...was pretty neat ♡ well I thought so anyway

Just had a summer full of them here, very noisy....they are pretty harmless, icky seeing them on the road/driveway though (squished)
Rather have them than spiders! ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh
