I dunno if this is a movie or a series, but it focuses on the young years of Barack Obama.
My only objection to this is that the trailer, and therefore, probably the film, glorifies the ideals of Obama, and kind of idolizes him personally.
I think Obama is a very interesting historical, personal and political figure, worthy of writing books or making movies about - but I strongly disagree with his actions as President and a lot of the political activism he has been involved with. In fact, I find it pretty contemptible. Nothing personal towards him.
I guess some people were threatening to boycott Netflix over this.....to be fair, they did a documentary on Mitt Romney which was quite nice. Didn't quite glorify him the same way though. But whatevs. In all likelihood, I'll probably watch "Barry." Just because as a historical figure he's interesting to me, and also to see how much they glorify him. So we'll see if I can stomach it.
