Every day I log into my pc and am inundated with horrific stories of my fellow Americans murdering their children and neighbors in cruel and unusual ways, stories about people arguing over programs to help those who dont have as much, and excessive greed and vanity run amok.
We live in such a wonderful country- while much of the world is being terrorized with wars and horrible catastrophes we are relatively safe here. Why in the hell is this insanity happening in this country???

Sixteen years ago, I had such a dream, such a faith to make a difference, even a small one within this misogynist and shallow culture. Without doubt, a presumptuous yet noble quest. I drained all my strength in this double life. Shadow's anti-hero with a pale result. Where was I so wrong? I used to have such faith.
I asked the universe to be reconnected to my faith. Without faith we can't make good.
May this year drives me to a reconnection. Or, more exactly, to feel the connection again.
Despair doesn't help. What can we do for changing these things?
Stay on course. Keep hope. Generate love.

"The ego must die to path way for the self"
Isn't a pattern? I really believe there is a lot of cliché in matter of spirituality. We have to take care with our interpretations in this matter but in another way, that's the way. Deconstructing one cliché at a time in our thoughts.
I believe everything in the world is in fact a love story. A love story about ourselves (Siddharta) and a love story about others. Try to find something not related to the heart.
Faith is linked to the meaning given to life. Losing faith, we're losing our compass.
The egocentric search à la Siddharta is part of the way yet has to be balanced with our way to others.
"May my so called wishywashy find a way to your real heart."
The heart recognizes what comes from the heart.

I like what you said Shamse. It resonates with me. Being one who was so terribly deluded with some divine purpose of my own design, and failing it- I lost faith. In this absence of understanding the good (this loss of faith in good) I fell to vices, some of which I still possess, while others I have conquered. Above all, I have learned to rise again into an awareness of the good, strengthened by my journey. Hopefully I am able to represent what I understand- each day is a step ahead.

I can definitely vouch for losing faith...err more like "just not always being in the best light"?? don't know if I have ever really lost faith, but have ignored it or fallen off path have you...

Being one who was so terribly deluded with some divine purpose of my own design, and failing it- I lost faith. I guess it's incredibly sane and valuable to portrait ourselves with a divine purpose yet far from humility. But it implies that we see ourselves through an higher purpose and it's an image of ourselves to preserve.

I know that you don't.
I am so oriented toward the improvement in every sphere of activities in my life that I couldn't say it isn't the same in matter of spirituality. But this domain is so vast that I don't see it as a competition in power rather as emulation. From one who is an obsessive reader we may learn knowledge, from a kid, his innocence, both being important in spirituality. It's not a question of age, sex, race, etc. Everyone is equally important in spirituality.
But globally, I believe there is different levels about the worldview and in that, yes, I see a hierarchy. For me, this hierarchy isn't about power but about compassion. It seems to me, it would make sense in this way. If we reach higher levels, we become more compassionate. In compassion, we don't seek pride about it. It's a hierarchy that isn't one. An enveloping, encompassing hierarchy rather that we could portrait by a larger circle.
I wonder if you really believe that? Romance is a so marvelous way to love and it's even an important form of love between two persons. I see it like love is generic, larger. More cerebral and spiritual when romance is largely physical.

I see being with an absence of love we are yet speaking of love.
I'm not sure that I agree entirely with this way of viewing. I would say losing the compass is a different way to learn. But the feeling I have is too vague, I cannot speak more right now.

That's a big question, what's the real world? I believe that's everything contributing to give meaning to life. And amongst other things, there is enormous conversations face to face, by telephone, messages, mails, websites like here and in social medias which contribute. When you say something bringing me to ask myself important questions, your contribution in my life is real and it bears a real sociable pattern. And to have this kind of conversations doesn't mean we don't have elsewhere a continuation of them with our friends face to face.
Maybe you're right that social media aren't appropriate to speak from our heart. Maybe, yet I wonder if it's not a judgment on what is coming from the heart. What is shared comes from a need. That's "something" is part of the person. We know so much from the people by what is said.
Why are you leaving if you are tired of? What do you need to stay? May I ask?

How about this stopping..... False reports to police!
Yesterday a white man called the police because he was pissed off that 3 african americans got in line faster than he did. He had 2 items, the other group had a basket of items. He called the police saying he was being threatened by these folks and that they had a gun. Witnesses and employees of that store told the white man to get out, he refused. Another white guy was called racist by the other white guy for also instructing him to "just get out"
So the guy starts calling racism. The white guy says "im sick of this racist shit being called out when you dont get your way" then proceeds to say "trump won, deal with it" Guy gets mad, security has him wait outside for the police. Police were informed about his false reporting. Lol ridiculous yesterday!
