To lose someone one trust hurts but probably when one drowns there is some unbalance. It means we give more importance to the other than at ourselves. And often we see some of our flaws in the drowning. But it makes beautiful songs

Actual drowning and someone dies, as in their no longer breathing? Or drowning as a description of a person losing the self, not who they once were?

I can't talk for Blixa B. From my own experience, both a physical and a psychological death may bring someone drowning.
From an instant to the other, we are never the same. All the time moving, changing. But these great imbalances bring us elsewhere. Going so far, it obliges us to redefine who we are. More consciously I would say.

I can relate to the psychological drowning from experiences ans life happenings involving others in my life I did say in another thread too many water signs around me are drowning me. Separation factor and standing my ground helps a bit though.

I was talking about suicide actually... jumping into a river with the aim to die and succeeding in it. It makes a difference to me, if someone is dead and drown or alive and drowning, if you know what I mean. At least, you still have a chance to reach out your hand and help someone drowning in real or irrational water. At least, there is a chance. My lover is dead. The river remains. And I'm at peace with that. :-)
Unbalance has brought me as far in life as balance has. Both have been great teachers and harsh friends. ;-)
Swimming in the same deep water with you is... God.
