Saw Dracula untold. Was a pretty tight flick until the closing scene where they tried to prepare you for a sequel. As you watch the movie they already suggest a sequel and so in the back of your mind you plan one out and mine seemed waaaay more interesting than whatever they have in mind. Also is anyone going to check out Exodus with Christian Bale? Initially I thought I would but now Im sort of meh over it. These past few weeks have been so dull with releases. And yes, I thank God daily that I live in a time and place where I am free to just watch movies and think about art. Dracula Untold looks a little cheesy to me, but not in a bad way. Just a fun film that I would probably enjoy. Exodus looks like it will be a fine movie, but I can't help but feel like it will probably be under-whelming in that it won't live up to the grandiosity of the story. I also haven't seen much promotion for it...seems like it was an expensive movie that might flop.

I watched Pumping Iron the other night on netflix, a 1977 documentary about the competition for the Mr. Olympia body-building championship - starring a 28 year old Arnold Schwarzenegger. I could care less about body-building, but the stories were compelling and the interviews were inspiring and over-all, the whole thing makes you wanna "pump up" and get in shape and have a positive attitude about life. Great movie.

lol, I saw Gone Girl the other day too. I thought it was okay. I thought the downsides were that it was too long and not enough "thrill" aspect, but I thought the story was a bit interesting at least. Also finally saw final Hobbit installment - I didn't think it was that great, to be honest. Again, I thought it was too long for the amount of story available and while the spectacle was fine, I thought there was too much spectacle over story. I don't even mind long movies, but if it's going to be long, at least make the story worth the time. For me, Gone Girl was just too unrealistic...with fantasy you expect that, but I thought Gone Girl was a drama/mystery??? it played more like a lifetime movie...

just saw "It follows" totally creepy flick. Told in a very day to day fashion so as to up the realism factor. Pays homage to the greats of the 70s and 80s.

One of the best things in horror to come out in awhile. It stays with you and I kind of found myself thinking about the sort of looming dread the movie did so well at portraying. Really enjoyed it, will watch it again.

I slept through Jurassic Park 2....didn't bother with 3....
But Jurassic World I'm actually thinking will be fun and I want to see it.
And Star Wars is looking like it will be a blast. The original cast and a great director.
I saw True Story the other day. Me and my wife often go to a morning show when our boy is in school. It was......alright. But I was confused at the end of the movie as to why they made it in the first place. Can't really explain why without giving away the story, lol. Good acting though.
We're planning on seeing The Age of Adeleine pretty soon....seems slightly cheesy in some ways, like it's trying to be more profound and original a story than it actually is, but like it will still be fun and interesting regardless.

Star Wars is a given, I think everyone in the world will go to that one lol
I was unimpressed with the Avengers I hope the 2nd one isnt worse like you say. When you compare Gaurdians of the Galaxy with the Avengers Guardians blows Avengers away, as did Winter Soldier.

I think Avengers was high on spectacle, not as much story driven. More like, all these movies have been building up to this "event," and now watch them battle their way through it for 2 hours. I still really enjoyed it though. I'm sure I'll enjoy Age of Ultron.
