oh my, what happened? just check up or what? No, just a close encounter with dying, which resulted in 7 days in thr hospital and having a tube inserted into my colon to drain an infection. Talked to the CT scan guy and he said people used to die from this before they knew how to treat it. Sooooo, colonoscopy this summer to see if I will require surgery on my colon. Just another week in the year 2017

And I was talking with that doctor and in my thoughts I'm like *how does one decide to become a doctor that specializes in anal exams and why* Lol

oh wow, what kind of infection? What happened? (if you don't mind sharing) I'm glad you're okay. I will give you the lengthy version. 6 months ago I began having a pain in my left lower abdomen. It would come and go and I thought I had constipation problems for a few months with a pulled abdomen muscle. I figured I could figure it out myself by seeing when the symptoms arise. I got hives at one point, thought I had a wheat allergy and began extreme healthy eating, which helped in February. I did vomit once when I had the hives and those went away. Fast forward to April and the pain got worse, had swelling in my abdomen, couldn't digest food properly and started taking laxatives to cure the constipation. Yeah, that was not working. All I did was lay down at home not able to sleep or eat solid foods. Began a liquid diet to get my system cleaned out and ate tylenol every 3 hours. 2 days after Easter, I saw a doctor who ordered me into an immediate CT scan at the hospital. Went home for my results and returned to the hospital 2 hours later for a 7 day stay. My colon developed a bacterial infection that was dangerous and blocking my digestion of everything. They had to do another CT scan to insert a tube into my colon through my lower abdomen where the bulge/lump was to drain the infection out. So I had a drain bag hanging out of me :x Had I not when in when I did, I would've died within the week. That thought and information told to me from doctors still has me in tears when I think about it. Very scary moment in my life. They arent sure if my colon is diseased yet because I need a colonoacopy for that and I have to heal the area for 6 to 8 weeks first before they can do yhat peocedure or they risk injuring me and going in for immediate surgery. I took a photo of myself when I was admitted to the ER. Holy shit, i looked VERY ill. Pale/grey, eyes sunken in, thin, weak. It has been a atruggle to get to today feeling much better than I did. I walked 2 times outside yesterday to rebuild my strength back. Very ahort walks. Dont have the energy for anything more. My clinic is 2 blocks and I will walk there today as it is helping my strenggth to be regained.

I was hooked up to IV's, for w days it was 3 kinds of antibiotics, then it went to 2 kinds of antibiotics after lab tests of the infection they sucked out. Was also getting hydration fluid and pain meds through IV. I was on a diet of no food or water before the drain tube was inserted. All I wantes was a drink of water. I went into the bathroom and filled my mouth with cold water from the sink, it felt amazing and snuck a tiny drip to drink. It was like winning the lottery!

Wow. That was grave. But I'm really glad you're okay. It's crazy how something that seems so little and so unnoticeable can be so dangerous. So glad you got yourself checked out in time.
I actually had/have a bacterial infection recently. I was on anti-biotics for some other stuff and it ended up killing all the good bacteria in my stomach, and so bad bacteria took over. I could hardly walk, was dehydrated, nauseous, etc. It was terrible. Taking lots of pro-biotics now.
Anyway, I'm glad you're on the mend!

Thank you. And yes, probiotics are a daily thing now. Processed sugar crap really seems to bother my digestive tract now. It's crazy how out of the blue your body reacts to things that you consumed without problems before. We are getting old! I swear once I hit 40 things began to change
