Also, I hope they do not give me some special diet restrictions for living. If they tell me no more coffee, I'm going to be bummed out.

Coffee is great, but so is tea Coffee on an empty stomach is terrible lol Managed to get dizzy and nauseated a few times from it. Tea doesn't do that though

If you ever get pissed at someone, you could give them crushed up dulcolax in their salad ๐

I have to have surgery to remove the part of the colon where the bacterial infection was. That part of my colon is damaged. There was a mass that blocked the doctor from getting any further into my colon. A biopsy of the mass was taken. I should find out my results today (it is Wednesday, just 4:30 in the morning). It could be benign, but the doctor couldn't get to the core of the mass, so the result of benign would be inconclusive. Their surgeon will be contacting me by Thursday to schedule surgery. I will be in the hospital for a week and out of work for 6 weeks. I knew something didn't feel right in that spot since the last hospital stay. They want to get it out soon so another infection doesn't occur.
It's been one hell of a day. I will be back at work, trying to do normal everyday stuff until my surgery happens. I with not allow my self to get depressed. I'm dreading being out of work and home for so long. No idea how this recovery will be like. 6 weeks and I'm sure a terrible liquid diet again until I can digest properly upon healing. Also I have been instructed to eat a low fiber diet currently because of this mass. raw veggies and fruits are a no no at this time.

Yikes reading that seems terrible. Hope for I or II I said III and IV as a continuation for Machina to be silly, but not for my own biopsy results. Hope to God I caught it early

Sometimes a little research is a good thing!
Was reading about the colon and it's broken into 4 parts. And also the left side versus the right side. I'm Happy to have read that colon cancer on the left side has a better outcome ๐ That is a moral booster for me! Also woke up today not feeling as tired and drained as yesterday. So I have managed to alleviate some stress too! And I know that at least 12 inches if my colon looks good so I have that too. (Not that a colon is something pleasant to look at haha) yes, humor is important Regardless, mind over matter ๐ Finding the good each day! It's absolutely mind boggling at 41 to have colon cancer. Also read that mice injected with the SGG bacteria found in cows, sheep, camels, deer had a faster growth rate of tumors. I rarely eat beef, but maybe the cheese is also just as bad. I love cheese. Damn. Anyways, yay for finding the good within the bad

Stage IV for me I have a complex case. The bacterial infection perforated and something is on my outside stomach wall (this is rare) My liver and lymph nodes are good. Nothing unusual. No cancer in those. Thank GOD! I will be having Che no, but no radiation because that would harm the internal organs nearby. I also will not lose my hair with this chemo. I am in a pretty good frame of mind with all this! And of course knowing the extent of my surgery helps answer some unknowns. The stomach issue won't be resolved until they go in and get a much better view of what it is. That might add an extra hour to my surgery. (I'll be asleep anyways, so OK) I'm the teaching case for doctors since this is rare. I find that to be pretty cool Keep me in your prayers please and thank you very very much!

Best advice: Keep a positive mind frame! Listen to your doctor Eat healthy Drink orange juice to get some iron absorption to help with fatigue. Be around people who lift your spirits!
